This fast growing leafy green loves the cool spring and fall. It history stretches back to roman times, and its our immigrants from Southern Italy that give it the name we use today. You might also be familiar with it as "Rocket" which comes from the Northern Italian 'ruchetta' via France and England. By whichever name you call it, it features a great peppery flavor that is milder when the leaves are harvest young. Sylveta is a more wild variety of arugula than many of the other varieties we find in the store. It is a little smaller and slower to bolt than other varieties with very tasty, deeply lobed leaves and a good strong peppery flavor. If you miss the leaves, don't worry because the little white flowers add a bright peppery garnish to salads and soups.
