Lupine, Tall Russell
If you are pre-ordering, please allow 10 weeks for your baby lupine to get ready to meet its new garden!
Lupine is native to large regions of the western North America and was transported to Britain in the 1820s. Later in the early 1900s George Russell, a horticulturalist from York, UK. worked to breed dense flower heads in a wide range of colors from those original wild strains. Others continued his work helping to create the tall-standing, fantastic cut flowers we know today. Lupines like a good, acidic soil, so plant them alongside your blueberries, rhododendrons, and azaleas.
