Alpha is an absolutely brilliant, pure orange calendula that looks amazing in the garden or when used as a cut flower for the house. It also has a particularly high concentration of resin, making Alpha an especially great choice for the medicinal garden as well.
Calendula: These daisy-like flowers are native to the Mediterranean, but have been used throughout Europe and India for ages as a medicinal herb and is still commonly added to balms and salves today. It also makes a great edible flower, when the petals are picked and added to salads or dried and used as a yellow food coloring. I personally love them because they are a beautiful flower to bring into the house or just enjoy in the garden along side all of the appreciative pollinators!
Growing Tips: Calendula should be planted 6 to 12 inches apart. The closer they are together the taller and better the stems are for cut flowers. Expect them to grow anywhere from 18 to 30 inches tall.
