Picture it clearly: beds that fit your yard like they've always been there. A path wide enough to kneel in. Tomatoes climbing a trellis in exactly the right spot. Herbs by the back door. A kitchen garden that feels like part of your property — not something bolted onto it.

That's the goal. The hard part is getting there without making decisions you'll be working around for a decade. A raised bed garden is permanent enough that the wrong choice — too close to the trees, too far from the hose, beds so wide you can't reach the center — becomes part of every single growing season. The layout either helps you grow or it becomes the thing you're always fighting.

I'll assess your site, design around your yard's actual conditions and what you want to grow, then build the whole thing: beds, soil, paths, trellis where needed. You walk away with a kitchen garden that's ready to plant and working for you from day one.

What's Included

Site Assessment + Design

  • On-site visit to evaluate sun exposure, drainage, and access
  • Conversation about what you want to grow and how much time you want to spend in the garden
  • Assessment of deer pressure and burrowing wildlife so protection is designed in from the start — not added as an afterthought
  • Layout options with my recommendations for bed count, size, placement, and orientation
  • Material selection: cedar, composite, or other options based on your goals and budget
  • Written garden plan before we break ground — no surprises on build day

Installation

  • Full raised bed construction in your chosen material
  • Premium organic soil mix — the same blend I use in my garden
  • Hardware cloth lining where groundhogs and voles are a concern
  • Deer fencing or post installation where needed
  • Path installation for comfortable access between beds
  • Trellis and vertical support structures where needed
  • Drip tape or irrigation prep where applicable
  • End-of-day walkthrough: what to plant first, what to expect in the first season

Professional Expertise

All design and installation work is done under my guidance as a NOFA-NY certified organic grower with over a decade of experience growing in Westchester and New York City. As a New York Botanical Garden instructor, I bring deep knowledge of what grows well in our local conditions and how to set up a garden that produces reliably year after year. Every project gets the same design thinking and attention to detail I've refined across dozens of builds.
